Adult Classes

Welcome to our current adult class offerings. As always, our goal is to create a fun, welcoming environment that offers children and adults alike the opportunity to indulge their senses and explore their creativity. Details for each series follows.

Fun Adventures in Art! (For adults or those of us that pretend to be!), Kim Watanabe

Format: Sign up is for four sessions or you may pay by the session.

1 Session per month on the third Sunday of the month

Dates: March 21st, April 18th, May 16th and June 20th

Each session is from 1:00pm to 3:30pm Cost: $100.00* (which is 25.00 per session)

*Their will be a materials fee established on the first day of class $15-$30

Location: Second Story Playhouse (above the Simply Sweet Shoppe), 30 North Rangeline Road Carmel, IN

Class Design: This is a set of classes that will focus on producing a completed project each session. Four of the following adventures will be chosen by the instructor of the class depending on the participant’s interests: \

• Mixed media acrylic painting
• Collage art with mixed media painting
• Found object assemblage sculpture
• Homemade art-book making
• Drawing tricks and traps
• Watercolor exploration

The other focus of this class is to work with each person from where they are at…and have the experience be positive, relaxed, and inspiring.

All levels of students are welcome, as individualized attention will be given.

Creative Fiction Writing Workshop For Adults, Greg & Donna Kishbaugh

Do you think you have great stories to tell? Have you ever yearned to write creatively? Come to Second Story Playhouse’s writing workshop to unlock your unique story telling voice. The eight-week workshops, taught by writers Greg and Donna Kishbaugh, will help you tap into the writer within you. Students will read from selected readings, write a variety of different material, share their writing in class and receive constructive feedback. Writing exercises, journal writing and peer interaction will help hone the skills needed to bring your story to life.
